Database Administrator

General Description:
The Database Administrator (DBA) has central responsibility for implementing and maintaining Kingsbury’s information databases. The DBA collaborates with department directors and others to identify information needs and to clarify the sources and uses of such information; the DBA carries out the technical work required to meet these needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain database and support systems including access methods, device allocations, organization, security, documentation, guidelines and standards
• Monitor, review, recommend, and implement the modification of database structures to achieve optimal database performance
• Monitor, review, recommend, and implement methods of improving the performance of database software products
• Ensure regular backups of database structure and data
• Research and correct database integrity problems
• Assist end-users in use of Kingsbury databases
Qualifications & Requirements:
• BA in Information Systems, Masters preferred
• Current Microsoft Certification in database design and development
• Preferred: experience in SharePoint design and management
• 5 years of computer programming experience, including experience with SQL
• Preferred: experience in an educational or other not-for-profit institution, familiarity with Blackbaud applications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence
