The Kingsbury Center exists to provide an outstanding education for children and youth with learning differences. In doing so, we help change their lives.
The Day School offers learning for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade, plus two other programs aimed at helping students complete high school and prepare for the next stage of their lives: a 13th-year program, which provides extra time for those who can benefit from it, and the HOPE Program for non-traditional students who need additional credits to earn their high school diploma.
Every Kingsbury student is different, and we tailor learning to fit those differences. But all have at least one thing in common: they come to us with learning challenges, such as issues with language or auditory processing, ADHD, or other challenges. Many come from school environments where they haven’t experienced success. At Kingsbury, we provide the support they need to thrive, today and in the future. Our academic standards are high, and we do everything in our power to help students succeed.
Classes are small, and this has multiple benefits. Teachers get to know their students extremely well. They know each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and adapt our instruction to fit the student. In a class of 10 students, you’ll find 10 different learning plans. Everyone gets the time, focus and support they need. No one gets left behind. No one falls through the cracks.
At Kingsbury, we believe in our students. We believe in their capacity to learn. We believe in who they are and in what they can become. Here barriers fall away. Doors to possibility open. Lives are transformed.
