Provides a transformative educational and social experience for children and adults with learning differences.
Lower School School Curriculum

Students in grades one through five receive individualized instruction in self-contained classrooms. Classrooms are mixed age to promote learning and academic strengths while accommodating flexibility to remediate or accelerate individually. Rather than having the group “cover” certain material, the focus is on each child. Classrooms typically have less than 10 students with a Special Education-trained teacher and a teaching assistant.

The Lower School curriculum is aligned to local state and Common Core standards. Instructional areas include Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.  Students have “Specials” classes several times each week covering Music Therapy, Art and Technology. Health and Physical Education classes, and a weekly Guidance class using the Second Step program round out the curriculum.

The Student First focus begins with healthy children. Students in Lower School have supervised recess each day. Tuition includes breakfast, lunch and a healthy snack.
